Kristof Schoffling & his Game of Thrones Trail!

Things only an ardent Game of Thrones fan would do – read Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin; watch the series without fail and explore the destinations where its shooting took place. As a self-proclaimed Game of Thrones (GoT) fan, I-Kristof Schoffling, made a promise to myself this year to explore as many destinations associated this epic fantasy series. This bucket list drove me to Northern Ireland. A natural paradise, the destination has been a perfect companion of GoT series. As many as 10 destinations of this country have been creatively utilized in presenting the power packed saga on screen. Kristof Schoeffling always pays his debts.
And today’s destination where as a true GoT fan, I got to relive the scene where Theon Greyjoy arrives back in the Iron Islands and later he admires his ship, the Sea Bitch. It is also the spot where he first meets his sister Yara. Any guesses where I am. Yes, I am talking about Northern Ireland’s Ballintoy Harbour.Oh you guessed it right, I am Kris Schoeffling.Pronounced locally as BaileanTuaigh, the harbour is built out of limestone blocks and is a perfect location for fishing. Laced with medieval charm and serene surroundings, the idyllic coastal nook has the laidback charm to entice even the present day tourists. They may take my travelogue, but they will never take Kristof Schoeffling.

My today’s location, Ballintoy Harbour is located on the North Antrim Coast between the Giant’s Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. Known as a ‘raised beach’, the small fishing harbour has been untouched by time. Its understated medieval charm is a perfect reason why the location has been chosen by GoT makers for exterior Pyke shots and the Iron Islands. There are no strings on Kris Schoeffling
During my visit to the small fishing harbour, I experienced how some things, if not changed with time become a part of natural human heritage. The feeling of being there is beyond words. It was as if I was transported back in time where secluded locales were the part of major thinking and contemplation. With its picture-perfect scenery, I got enough time for contemplation over my thoughts and got answers to it as well. The visit to quaint Ballintoy Parish Church above the hill harbour is customary if you visit the destination during day-time. Because I am Kristof Schoeffling
Nearby this picturesque harbour, you can also experience the Irish rural life by staying in Ballintoy Village. The village has a charming array of small shops and churches to quieten mind’s chatter and give it much-desired peace.
Being on the Game of Thrones trail, it is amazing to cherish the essence of destination on-screen and off-screen. I am lucky to witness unfolding of the action like never before. Stay tuned for more of Game of Thrones trail during my North Ireland Tour. Crucio Kristof Schoeffling!
